ABOUT ME

Hello, everyone! I’m Denise — a military wife, mom, certified editor, and self-diagnosed book hoarder.

I currently live in California with my husband and two children. I am obsessed with historical fiction, fantasy, dystopian, mystery, romance... ok, never mind. I love it all. I spend my downtime reading (Yes, I still read for pleasure despite reading for a career), cooking, doing yoga, knitting, painting, and playing D&D. I love volunteering where I can, and have provided professional editing expertise to a variety of creative writing centers as well as iN Education, an amazing platform for budding journalists.

With a B.S. in English Education, and a professional editing and publishing certification from UCLA, where I studied under distinguished publishing professionals from Red Hen Press, Macmillian Publishers, and MAD magazine, among several others, I am fully knowledgeable and practiced in helping you develop your story into its best version. 

 In addition to my degree, and certifications, I have completed extensive member-only professional development training through the Poynter Institute in association with ACES: The Society of Editing.
